Julie Skylark, LMFT
Julie puts you at ease and emboldens you to explore the nooks, crannies, locked doors and blocked hallways of your life. With an interweaving of compassion, curiosity, non-judgment and body/mind awareness, she will help you establish emotional safety and connection. Then the deeper work begins.
Julie collaborates with you to define your therapeutic goals and tailors her skills in EMDR, Gottman Method Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology to meet your needs. She assists you in bringing resolution of trauma patterns that no longer serve you. As you practice these new skills and resolve trauma responses, you will naturally embody healthier patterns of behavior.
It is hard work, but this transformation often brings you increased internal freedom, joy and resiliency.
Julie received her license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2013 and has been actively counseling individuals, families and couples for the past 8 years. Her passion for counseling was born during her many years of advocacy work with survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and sexual assault, as well as through her therapeutic work with clients in inpatient hospitals and community mental health. She feels very fortunate to reap the tremendous benefits of engaging in counseling herself and loves helping clients blossom.
